Hat-trick by Harpreet Singh

NEW DELHI: A hat-trick by Harpreet Singh powered Border Security Force (BSF) to a 4-1 victory over State Bank of Travancore, Thiruvananthapuram, in a group B league match of the fourth Lt. Governor’s DDA football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Thursday.

Balraj Singh scored the other goal for the winner. Denis Afan Mark scored the only goal for the loser.

In group A, a goal each by Amandeep Singh and Gurbinder Singh helped

Five goals by Dhruvpal Godara proved inadequate as Cavalry White beat Drakon 10 to 7-1/2 in a league match of the Maharaja Sir Pratap Singh Cup 14-goal polo tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantonment, on Thursday.

Manupal Godara scored the other goal for the loser that had started with a 1-1/2 goal handicap advantage.

Atul Gupta (3), Hamza Ali (3), Ravi Rathore (2) and Santiago De Estrada (2) shared the goals for the winner.

In another match, Gerardo Mazzini scored four goals to guide Elevation to a 5-3 victory over Horse and Wagon. Satinder Garcha scored the other goal for the winner.

Angad Kalaan scored all the goals for the loser. Punjab Police beat Peerless, Kolkata, 2-0.
