Vuppunuthala lashes out at YSR

HYDERABAD: Congress MLA Vuppunuthala Purushotham Reddy on Thursday took strong exception to the Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s remarks comparing the Telangana issue with Indo-Pak differences over Jammu & Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Reddy, who is chairman of the Telangana Regional Development Board, charged the Chief Minister with complicating the Telangana issue by making such remarks.

Terming the outbursts ‘misleading’, the senior Congress leader said the Chief Minister was under the impression that the people of Telangana were not able to see through them. “How long will the people of Telangana digest such humiliation,” he said, questioning whether Dr. Reddy was the Chief Minister of the State or a region. He also wondered how Dr. Reddy could forget that he was a signatory to a memorandum submitted to AICC president Sonia Gandhi by 41 Congress legislators demanding separate Telangana.

Congress MLC K.R Amos accused the Chief Minister of diverting the Telangana issue , while another MLC, Palvai Goverdhan Reddy, pointed out that party seniors would discuss these remarks.
