Panel shortlists 3 names for Osmania V-C post

HYDERABAD: The search committee to pick the new Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University has finalised three names with the top contender being a professor from the Velama community.

Though the name of Prof. Tirupathi Rao from the Department of Political Science, is doing rounds, officials refused to confirm the same. The other two names reportedly figuring in the final list are former OU Vice-Chancellor Suleman Siddiqi and former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University Gopal Reddy. Senior officials say that all three who are in the final list stand an equal chance till the Governor actually signs the file and sends it back to the government.
