Arun helps Kerala drub Tamil Nadu

KOCHI: Arun Paulose hit a fine century as Kerala drubbed Tamil Nadu by seven wickets in the P.S. Ram Mohan Rao Trophy South Zone under-25 limited-overs cricket championship at Fatorda, Goa, on Wednesday.

Kerala, riding on mediumpacer Krishna Chandran’s five-wicket haul which included a hat-trick, had beaten Hyderabad by seven wickets in its opening match.

Kerala and Karnataka picked up bonus points in their first two matches and now jointly lead the table with 10 points each.

The scores: Tamil Nadu 180 in 44.3 overs (P. Sathish 43, Krishna Chandran three for 27) lost to Kerala 181 for three in 35 overs (Arun Paulose 100, K.J. Rakesh 32 n.o.).

Hyderabad 111 in 36.1 overs (V.S. Sandilya 37, Krishna Chandran five for 34 including a hat-trick, M.P. Manu three for 23) lost to Kerala 115 for three in 23.5 overs (K.J. Rakesh 32 n.o., Krishna Chandran 44 n.o.). — Principal Correspondent
