Murder mystery solved

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A young man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old businessman at Sheikh Sarai here on February 7. The police claim to have recovered a stolen laptop bag and a suitcase from the accused.

Pranab Saikia was found murdered in the flat of his nephew Anshuman Dass on February 8. His mobile phone records revealed that he had lately come across some people and had also invited them over to the flat. The police found that one of his acquaintances named Satender Singh had left for Rai Bareli in Uttar Pradesh after the murder came to light. He was finally traced to West Patel Nagar and arrested after he allegedly confessed to having murdered Mr. Saikia.

During interrogation, Satender told the police that he recently became friends with Mr. Saikia and had allegedly planned to commit robbery there.
