Speeding car mows down one

NEW DELHI: A labourer was killed and another critically injured when a speeding car ploughed into them at Preet Vihar here on Thursday. The accident took place around 2 a.m. when businessman Devender, who was returning from a marriage party with his friends, lost control of the wheel and the car climbed the pavement near the Karkardooma courts complex. The vehicle rammed into a group of labourers sitting on the pavement, killing Zafruddin on the spot and seriously injuring Imran. Devender has been arrested on charges of causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
