Legendary singer gets award posthumously

BHUBANESWAR: On the occasion of the 69th birthday of prominent singer and musician Prafulla Kar at Utkal Mandap here on Saturday, late legendary singer, music composer and writer Akshaya Mohanty would be honoured with the first Prafulla Kar Samman posthumously.

The two-year-old Foundation would also felicitate five prominent singers on the occasion.

The highlight of the event would be the performance of the sons of Akshaya Mohanty and Prafulla Kar - Mitrabhanu Mohanty and Mahaprasad Kar respectively.
