BHUBANESWAR: Showcasing seven major events, the capital city would host the 14-day annual Ekamra festival commencing on Saturday. It is being organised by the Department of Tourism to promote Bhubaneswar as a favourite tourists’ destination. Briefing the media jointly here on Friday, Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Commissioner Parag Gupta informed that Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Ambica Soni and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would inaugurate the Toshali national crafts fair, the first segment of the festival, at the Janata Maidan here on Saturday. The next segment- the three-day Mukteswar Odissi festival - would kick off on Sunday apart from a mini marathon being organised by Orissa Mining Corporation. Annual martial dance festival - Kalinga Mahotsav - would be held atop the Dhauli hills on February 23 and 24. An eight-day international food festival would be underway at the Exhibition Ground from Febrauray 20 to 27. During the Ekamra shopping festival from February 20 to 27, select shops would offer attractive discounts. In the last leg of the mega event, the three-day Rajarani national classical music festival would be hosted on the temple premises.
