Party demands budgetary allocation for third phase of Devadula project

Nomula Narsimaiah to address public meeting in Siddipet on Sunday

Sangareddy: CPI(M) Medak committee in a press release here on Friday announced that district secretary Chukka Ramulu will lead ‘Metuku Seema Neeti Poru’ Padayatra to State Assembly from Tapaspalli reservoir on Saturday, instead of Sunday.

The yatra will culminate at the State Assembly on February 25 after passing through Siddipet, Dommata, Gajwel and Narsapur segments to reach Hyderabad.

The party has been demanding budgetary allocation for third phase of the Devadula project, aimed at irrigating 36,000 acres in four mandals of Medak district.

Party floor leader in Assembly Nomula Narsimaiah will address a public meeting in Siddipet on Sunday.

The party has been claiming that the district has a right over 125 tmc of Godavari water and the district, which has 84.8 p.c. of its command area under the Godavari, has never received a drop of its water.
