Surprise inspection

ARIYALUR: The District Collector V. M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam conducted a surprise inspection at the godown of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation here on Friday and verified the stock and issue registers. He also ascertained the quantum of essential commodities stocked. He also sought an explanation from the officials in-charge for some surplus and unaccounted stock of rice.

Later, he inspected the fair price shop at Wallaja Nagaram and ordered the officials to recover the price equivalent to an under-stock of 20 kg of rice. The District Revenue Officer P. Sankar accompanied Collector.
