INTUC leaders meet Sonia Gandhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State-level functionaries of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) on Friday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and submitted a memorandum on issues concerning the labour sector. The delegation included INTUC State president R. Chandrasekharan, Palode Ravi, M.S. Rawther, G. Subodhan and Vithura Sasi. They urged Ms. Gandhi to persuade the Union government to address the problems of the workers in Kerala’s traditional sectors such as coir, handloom, fishing and cashew. —Special Correspondent
