Shabbir dares KCR to prove his charges

HYDERABAD: A day after the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhara Rao accused Energy Minister Md. Ali Shabbir of hatching a conspiracy to foment communal trouble in the city at the Chief Minister’s behest, the war of words between the Congress and TRS leaders reached a new low.

While Mr. Shabbir accused the TRS chief of implementing ‘hidden agenda’ to target Muslims, the TRS leaders hit back at him accusing of being involved in a racket in Chennai and demanded his dismissal. Separately, a TRS MLC, M.A. Rahman alleged that there was a threat to his life from the Energy Minister.

Mr. Shabbir, at a press conference on Friday, rubbished the charges and accused Mr. Rao of targeting the two Muslim Ministers in the Congress Government. “First it was Md. Fareeduddin, who was manhandled by the TRS workers in Siddipet constituency. Now, it is my turn to face their wrath,” he remarked. Denying the charges, he dared the TRS president to prove his allegations or tender an unconditional apology. He said the TRS leaders utterances exposed his utter contempt for Muslims.
