Taj Spa at hotel wins award

KOCHI: Taj Spa in Taj Malabar here has won an international award.
The spa has been recognised as one of the 10 best spas in Asia by 2008 Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Spa awards.
The spa got top marks for its individualised approach.
Readers of the traveller magazine nominated their favourite spas in categories from urban day spas and hotel spas to spa retreats and medical/thermal spas. They were asked to rate them according to criteria that include exercise programmes and body treatments, ambience and décor and cuisine.
Says Prakash Nair, manager of the spa: “Taj Spa offers an array of signature Indian experiences and ceremonies, Indian therapies and scrubs and wraps leading to a state of perfect calm. The popular treatments among the regulars of the spa are jivaniya, abhayangam and anana lepa.”
There are specially tailored spa treatments that include soundarya and sukha. Mr. Nair says that all products used at the spa are made from natural and organic ingredients.
