Gavaskar backs Niranjan Shah

Mumbai: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has backed BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah’s opinion that sledging should be eradicated from the game of cricket.

“Sunil has sent a mail to me saying: ``I agree with your view that sledging should be removed from the game altogether in order to avoid ugly situations,” said Shah, before leaving for Kuala Lumpur for the ICC Chief Executives Committee meeting from February 17 to 20. — Special Correspondent
