Lovers beats Varah CC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lovers CC defeated Varah CC by 24 runs in the Canara Bank-TDCA ‘B’ division cricket league here on Friday.

Chasing 196 for a win, Varah, despite a gallant 81 by A.V. Rajesh, was dismissed for 171 in the 30th over. For Lovers, Pradeep took six for 64.

The scores: Lovers CC 195 in 40.4 overs (Anil Devaraj 40, Meena Kumar five for 43) beat Varah CC 171 in 29.2 overs (A.V. Rajesh 81, Pradeep six for 64). — Principal Correspondent
