Kozhikode in last eight

KUNNAMKULAM: Kozhikode and Kurianoor entered the quarterfinals of the all-Kerala inter-YMCA basketball tournament held here on Friday.

In the pre-quarterfinals, Kozhikode crushed Alappuzha 50-16, while Kurianoor defeated Ollur 39-22.

The results: Pre-quarterfinals: Kozhikode 50 (Bony Mathew 18, Shijoy Thomas 10) bt Alappuzha 16 (Vishnu T. Shaji 10); Kurianoor 39 (Albin Baby 13, Arun Alexander 13) bt Ollur 22 (Joshy 10).

First round: Kunnamkulam 66 (Amal James 23, Bibin Chacko 22) bt Mannuthy 48 (S. Francis 19, Sunny Thomas 10). — Principal Correspondent
