Harvester, tractor available on rent

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Collector V. Chandrasekaran on Friday commissioned a tractor and harvester that would be rented out for farmers.
The harvester and tractor, costing Rs. 15.63 lakh, would be rented out by the Agricultural Engineering Department. The rent for the harvester is Rs. 700 an hour and the tractor Rs. 120 an hour. The farmers need to bear the fuel cost.
The Collector advised the farmers to get the vehicle and the machinery by contacting the Assistant Executive Engineer, Agricultural Engineer Department, located on the District Collectorate premises.
The Executive Engineer, P. Selvaraj, Assistant Executive Engineer, V. Sakthivel and Joint Director (Agriculture), A. Ramamoorthy, the Personal Assistant to Collector (Agriculture), R. Balasubramaniam, were present.
