Man dies in cylinder blast

BHUBANESWAR: A sixty-year-old man died and three others were seriously injured when a LPG Gas cylinder reportedly went off in Balasore town, about 200 km from here on Friday. The victim has been identified as Seikh Abdul Rauf while his son and daughter-in-law along with an Indane Gas executive sustained severe burn injuries.

The incident took place in the morning hour when the executive, Surajeet Jena, had come to check leakage of gas from a cylinder at Rauf’s residence in Malisahi area of the town.

Due to ignition from some sources, the gas caught fire and the cylinder immediately blast off.

The injured were admitted in the district hospital.
