Move to ease water scarcity

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE: Control rooms will soon be set up in all towns in the district to receive complaints on problems with the supply of drinking water, Deputy Commissioner M.B. Dyaberi has said.

Speaking to The Hindu here on Friday, he said the control rooms would begin functioning next week and would be in place throughout the summer. They were expected to coordinate between the authorities and villages that faced scarcity of drinking water, he said. People could come to the taluk or town panchayat office, where the control rooms would be set up, and register complaints. They could even register them over the telephone.

The Deputy Commissioner said the telephone numbers of all the control rooms would be published in newspapers.
