Abhishek and Priya win

VISAKHAPATNAM: S.V. Abhishek and J. Doondi Priya of Visakhapatnam won the under-16 boys and girls titles in the AITA Super Series all-India junior tennis tournament that concluded at Berhampur (Orissa) on Thursday.

Abhishek beat K. Pradeep Reddy of Hyderabad 7-6, 6-0, while Priya defeated Eethe Mehta of Gujarat 6-1, 6-1 in the boys and girls finals respectively. Priya was also runner-up in the doubles event. Siuli Upadhyaya (Orissa) and Surya Tejaswani (AP) beat Priya and Sai Samhiti (TN) in the final.

S. Kanwar (Gujarat) and Rupam Gogoi (Assam) won the boys doubles title, beating V. Savan and Surya S. (AP) 6-2, 6-1. — Special Correspondent
