Exploring “fragile world” of child actors

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Actor Rohini’s documentary on film industry’s child artists titled, “Silent Hues,” was screened at Sathyam Cinemas on Saturday morning.

The 50-minute documentary features interviews with six child actors and some parents.

It is Rohini’s attempt at exploring the “fragile world” of child actors.

Herself a child star, Rohini said she felt a “shade of sadness” while speaking to some of the actors. But she did not want the documentary to be judgemental and opted instead to follow an interview format. Rohini told reporters that a shorter version of ‘Silent Hues’ would be screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival later this year. The film is cinematographed by Alphonse Roy, edited by Ashwin Prabhu and features the music of Prasanna Ramaswamy.

School Education Minister Thangam Thenarasu lauded the documentary for its honest portrayal.
