Madikeri: Kodagu Deputy Commissioner’s office has invited applications to establish 28 fair price shops in the three taluks of the district. Ten shops each would be opened in Virajpet taluk and Somwarpet taluk and eight in Madikeri taluk, according to an official press release here on Saturday. The locations proposed by the tashildar to open shops in Virajpet are Christian Colony at Kedamullur, Guyya (Siddapur), Devanoor, Marapala (Thithimathi), Kottageri, Sunkadakatte (Virajpet town), Kothur, Harishchandrapura, Kottoli and Aruvatoklu. Locations proposed in Somwarpet taluk are Abhyatmangala (Ontiangadi), Bettadakadu (Nellihudikeri), Koodumangalooru, Hosathota (Gargandur- B), Avaredalu (Handli), Edavara, Doddahanakodu (Doddamalte), Sundaranagara, Siddalingapura and Hebbale. In Madikeri taluk the locations identified are Cheriyaparambu, Bettathur (Madhe), Biligeri, Koynadu, Neerukolli, Appangala, Kalur and Aivathoklu. Applications in Form-I, to be obtained from the office of the Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Fort, Madikeri, should be submitted to the offices of the respective taluk tahsildars before March 15.
