Congress stand on Telangana condemned

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The CPI (Maoist) and CPI (ML) Janashakti have condemned the Congress “shifting stand” on Telangana saying it has come out with its true face four years after it came to power using the emotive issue. In a statement, Chandranna, secretary of north Telangana state special zone committee (of CPI (Maoist) and Bharath, secretary of Godavari Valley regional committee of CPI (ML) Janashakti appealed to people of the region to defeat Congress designs of denying separate Telangana, make the Centre in Delhi concede the demand and intensify the separatist movement in an apolitical manner.

They said after promising separate Telangana and getting elected on that plank, the Congress leaders were now talking about development and have turned into main obstacle. They accused the Congress-led Central government with having sold itself away to the coastal Andhra landlords and capitalists’ lobby headed by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. From seeking consensus, referring the issue to SSRC , the Centre came up with all sorts of gimmicks .
