Naidu raps Government on corruption

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu has charged the State government with being “highly corrupt” and claimed credit for the recommendation of the Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) for a higher minimum support price of Rs. 1,000 a quintal for paddy.

He said the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) of which he is the convenor organised four rallies forcing the Union government to consider higher MSP for paddy. He blamed the State government, Congress MPs and Union Ministers from Andhra Pradesh for their ‘inaction’ on this burning issue.

Continuing his tirade Mr. Naidu said it was due to the positive measures taken by his Government that the State’s revenue grew substantially.

He sought to know why farmers’ suicides were continuing unabated inspite of Rs. 1 lakh-crore budget for the coming fiscal.
