Police asked to probe charges against Manyata

Mumbai: A local court on Saturday asked the police to investigate the claim by a struggling writer that he was married to Manyata, actor Sanjay Dutt’s wife. Bandra police are to file the probe report by February 20.

Mehraj Shaikh, who claims to be Ms. Manyata’s husband, filed an application against the Dutts in a local court on Friday, alleging that they have violated the Muslim marriage law.

He claims Ms. Manyata’s brother was witness to their marriage. — PTI
