mChek, Airtel bag Global Mobile Award 2008

BARCELONA: The Bangalore-based mChek’s instantaneous mobile payments and recharge solution and the Airtel service, which harnessed it for its Indian customers, have been honoured with the Global Mobile Award 2008 of the GSM Association (GSMA), in the category “Best Billing and Customer Care Solution” on the last day of the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona.
The judges said: “mChek has shown the way: The cashless society is here and it’s gone mobile.”
The Association represents over 700 mobile phone operators in 218 countries. It conferred its top accolade, the GSMA Chairman’s Award, on Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder, Chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, citing his “immense personal contribution to the vitality of the mobile world.”
