Bangalore: Rahul Dravid will lead Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy inter-State all-India limited overs tournament at Chennai from February 26 to March 3. The team: Rahul Dravid (captain), C. Raghu (vice-captain), Bharath Chipli, K.B. Pawan, Ganesh Satish, Sunil Raju, Devraj Patil, B. Akhil, Sunil Joshi, R. Vinay Kumar, N.C. Aiyappa, C.M. Gautam, Amit Verma, Adithya Sagar, A. Mithun and K.P. Appanna. Coach: Vijay Bharadwaj. Physio: Ramakanth; Manager: Raghuram Bhat. MTR Cup tournamentThe MTR Nivarana Basavanagudi Cup’s all-India edition will commence here on Sunday. The eight-day tournament will feature leading teams, primarily from the South, vying for the title with the winner taking home Rs. one lakh. The matches will be 30-overs-a-side. Along with the leading local and outstation teams like Vijaya Bank, State Bank of Mysore, Canara Bank, Hyderabad State XI, Cochin Refineries, Air India and RWF, the top four teams — Jayanagar Colts, Herons CC, Swastic Union CC and Malleswaram Gymkhana — from the State-level tournament, currently in progress, will also participate. The Mysore, Hubli, Tumkur, Hassan and Shimoga zonal teams will also compete in the tournament that will be played at the HAL, NAL, NRA Palace and National High School grounds.
