Vishal’s effort goes in vain

NEW DELHI: Seven goals by Vishal Singh proved inadequate as Cavalry White beat Cavalry Black/Chougan 10 goals to 7 1/2 in the last league match of the Maharaja Sir Pratap Singh Cup 14-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Saturday. The only other contribution for the loser came through a half-goal handicap advantage. Santiago De Estrada (6) and Ravi Rathore (4) were the marksmen for Cavalry White that booked itself a berth in the final.

In the other match, Elevation drew 7-7 with Cavalry Red but progressed to the final on better goal average. Satinder Garcha (5) and Gerardo Mazzini (2) were successful in finding the target for Elevation. Guillermo Tarera (5), Simran Shergill and Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored the goals for Cavalry Red. — Special Correspondent
