Aurobindo HS, Little Flower win

BANGALORE: The Aurobindo High School and Little Flower Public School claimed the team titles in the boys’ and girls’ sections respectively here in the Match Point inter-school table tennis tournament.

In the boys’ final, Sri Aurobindo defeated Sri Kumaran’s Home 3-0 and in the girls’ final Little Flower PS defeated Sri Kumaran’s Home 2-0.

Other results (finals): Seniors: Aishwarya Bidri bt Sahana 16-14, 11-4, 19-21, 11-8; Juniors: Ridhi Rohit bt Deeksha 11-7, 11-9, 11-5.

Pawan, Sunil shine

K.B. Pawan’s 92 and Sunil Kumar’s four for 23 spell helped Malleswaram Gymkhana defeat Herons CC by 53 runs in an MTR Nivarana Basavanagudi Cup tournament semifinal at the National HS Ground here on Saturday. Malleswaram Gymkhana scored 249 for six in 30 overs and bowled out Herons CC for 196 in 30 overs.

The scores (semifinals): Malleswaram Gymkhana 249 for six in 30 overs (K.B. Pawan 92) bt Herons CC 196 in 30 overs (Sunil Kumar four for 23).

Jayanagar Colts 218 for seven in 30 overs (C. Raghu 80) bt Swastic Union CC 167 in 23.4 overs.

Brace by Raj

Raj Kumar’s brace helped Jupiter FC defeat Vel Socials 5-1 in a State ‘C’ division football league match here on Saturday. Yezhumalai, Rajesh and Prabhakar also scored for the winner while Suresh scored for the only goal for Vel.

Physiotherapists’ course

A Level One course for physiotherapists will be held at the National Cricket Academy here from Monday. The first batch of physios will have their course here from February 18 to 22. Paul Close, Paul Chapman, Dr. K. Suratwala and Vaibhav Daga will conduct the course.
