One killed in road accident

THENI: A 22-year-old man, Raja, was killed on the spot when he fell from a tractor on Suruli Road near Cumbum on Saturday. The police said that the accident took place when he and tractor driver Muniyandi tried to escape from revenue officials who chased them. The two persons were smuggling sand from Mullaperiyar river near Surulipatti.
