CPI demonstration

PUDUKOTTAI: Members of the Thirumayam taluk unit of CPI staged a demonstration in front of the bus stand at Ponnamaravathy on Saturday protesting against the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. The taluk secretary A.L. Raj, who led the protest, said that the Centre should rather come to the rescue of the common masses by reducing the Excise duty and Customs tax on petroleum products.
