“Regularise TASMAC salespersons”

PUDUKOTTAI: The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) Employees’ Progressive Union has urged the State Government to regularise the services of temporary salespersons attached to the TASMAC shops all over Tamil Nadu.

A resolution adopted at its state general council meeting, held here on Friday, said that about 32,000 employees were working as temporary workers at the TASMAC bars and Cheap Liquor shops.

The State president Rajavel and the district secretary of the Thozhilalar Munnetra Sangam Ganapathy were among those who spoke.

Later, the office-bearers of the Union, led by Ravikumar as president, was elected for 2007-08.
