Decision taken to promote use of ‘Smart Tags’ It will help reduce waiting time at toll plazas NEW DELHI: To cut down on the waiting time at its toll plazas by promoting the use of “Smart Tags” that allow for stop-free transit through them, DSC Limited, the developers of the new Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, have announced a 50 per cent discount on such tags for daily users up to February 25. Company director Manhad Narula said on Saturday that “as a major step, 50 per cent concession is now being offered to Smart Tag buyers under the daily users or Smart Express plan and other benefits are being enhanced significantly.” Moreover, the one-time refundable security deposit of Rs.500 on tags for both daily commuters and infrequent users has also been waived till February 25. To speed up sales of the tags, the company has now taken to their sale through Ebony stores at D-4, South Extension Part II, New Delhi; Crowne Plaza, Sector 15A, Mathura Road, Faridabad; and the Gautier store at K5– K9, Sector 18, Noida. The tags would also be available at the point-of-sale office at KM 24, KM 42 and IGI Airport Toll Plaza. Mr. Narula said once a majority of the users start travelling on Smart Tags, there would be a stop-free movement for them and considerably reduced waiting time for users paying cash. “ With the adoption of Smart Tags, we envisage that the waiting time for cash users will further get reduced to an average 5 to 7 minutes,” he said.
