One killed in group clash

Nagercoil: A man was killed in a clash between two groups of people at Eraniel near Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district on Saturday.

Madhava Prasad of Mallancode near Eraniel and few others of the same area had previous enmity over collection of revenue from a marriage hall.

Members of the opposite party entered the marriage hall and damaged the furniture, besides attacking Madhava Prasad and his friend Arumugham Pillai.

They were admitted to a private hospital for treatment with serious injuries.

The police have registered a case against 22 persons.
