Gas struck in Cauvery basin
NEW DELHI: Jubilant Energy has struck gas in Block CY-ONN-2002/1 in the Cauvery basin, a company release stated here on Friday.
Jubilant is the operator of the block, which also has Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation and Gas Authority of India Limited as other partners.
The block was awarded to the consortium in the fourth round under New Exploration Licensing Policy.
“The new discovery of gas and light crude oil was made in Andimadam and Sattapadi formation in the Cauvery basin in addition to the established Bhuvanagari formation.
A total of 110 metres of Net Pay was encountered within the well,” the release said. — Special Correspondent
