Jodhaa Akbar: Rajput group attacks multiplex

Indore: Protesting the depiction of Jodhaabai as Akbar’s wife in the just released ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, members of the Rajput community threw stones at a multiplex and tried to ransack it on Saturday.

“Eight persons, including two women, were arrested for trying to ransack the Velocity mulitplex and a case has been registered against them,” Additional Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Jain told PTI.

The action was taken on a complaint filed by the multiplex management.

The arrested workers reportedly belong to the Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha.

Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha’s city president Gyan Singh Chouhan, alleged that it was a question of “integrity of Rajputs” as Jodhaa never married Akbar. — PTI
