Dwibedi bags double

Hyderabad: Pravasani Dwibedi of Orissa bagged a double in the 28th Open National rowing championship at the Hussainsagar Lake here on Saturday. She won the women’s single sculls race and then won the double sculls race with Meena as her partner.

The results: Women (2000m races): Single sculls: 1. Pravasani Dwibedi (Ori) 9m 25.5s., 2. Dittymol Varghese (Ker), 3. Tababa Devi (Man).

Double scull: 1. Pravasani Dwibedi and Meena (Ori) 8m 45.9s, 2. Dittymol Varghese and Thara Kurian (Ker), 3. Sunitha Devi and Tababa Devi (Man).

Coxless pairs: 1. Rameshwari Devi and Kunjeshwari Devi (Man) 9m 44.4s; 2. Monalisa Mohanty and Pratima (Ori), 3. Aakshi Paul and Deepti Das (And).

Coxless fours: 1. Mamata Jena, Kabita Shyanti, Pramila Minz and Priyadarshini Jena (Ori) 8m 18.03s, 2. Devala Devi, Zingraphy, Rameshwai Devi and Kunjeshwari Devi (Man), 3. Teena Thomas, Jincymol Varghese, Remya and M. Varghese (Ker).
