dated February 18, 1958: Cash prizes for films

For providing further incentive to the production of films of high aesthetic and technical standard as well as of educational and cultural value, the Government of India have decided to award cash prizes every year for the first two award winning entries in each of the three categories, namely, feature, children and documentary films, says an official press release. The cash prizes will be given for the first time at the forthcoming State awards for films due to be held in April 1958.
