Free televisions distributed

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, distributed free colour television sets at Uppathur village near Sattur on Sunday. The sets were given to 576 families. A total of 7,117 TV sets would be distributed in the third phase. Among them, Rajapalayam Assembly constituency would be given 2,257 sets, Srivilliputtur 1,955, Sivakasi 1,254 and Aruppukottai 1,220. The Minister also gave away benefits under various schemes to 768 persons at a cost of Rs. 50.23 lakh.
