Attack on engineers flayed

PUDUCHERRY: The Pondicherry PWD Junior Engineers Welfare Association has condemned the recent attack on engineers in Kanyakumari district.

It has urged the governments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu to provide protection to engineers and take immediate measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Two engineers of the Tamil Nadu Highways Department were attacked while they were removing encroachments at Tiruvattar in the district, the association recalled.

Calling for adequate protection for the engineers involved in such works, the association urged the Tamil Nadu government to initiate stern action on those responsible for the attack.
