Grand reception awaits Mauritius PM in Bihar

PATNA: Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam will arrive here on Monday on his maiden three-day visit to Bihar.

The state government has installed a 600-kg life-size statue of his father Seewoosagar Ramgoolam, the first Prime Minister of Mauritius, in the state capital in recognition of his contribution towards building the island nation.Seewoosagar Ramgoolam hailed from Harigaon village in Bhojpur district of Bihar. The first Prime Minister of Mauritius was considered Father of the Nation as he led his country to freedom from British rule.
