Bangalore Open tickets go on sale

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) has announced that tickets for Bangalore Open 2008, scheduled to be held at the Kingfisher KSLTA Stadium from March 3 to 9, are on sale.

The tickets can be bought either online from the Ticketpro website ( www.ticketpro.in ) or from the KSLTA office.

Tickets are priced from Rs.165 onwards for the preliminary round matches and from Rs. 220 onwards for the semifinals and finals.

Bowring Institute teams win

The host, Bowring Institute’s ‘C’ and ‘D’ teams posted wins in the Gopal N. Chugh memorial inter-club snooker tournament here. Bowring ‘C’ defeated KSBA 2-0 and Bowring ‘D’ defeated Sadhashivanagar Club 2-1.

In other matches, Koramangala Club prevailed over Malleswaram 2-1 and City Institute defeated Vijayanagar Club 2-0.

Lucky XI posts win

A brace each by centre-forward Muneer (34th & 57th minutes) and left-out Issac (34th & 71st) and a goal each by Ajez (19th), Joseph (21st) and Nober (83rd) helped Lucky XI register a 7-4 win over Pope FC in the MDFA’s ‘A’ Division football league in Mysore on Sunday.

For the loser, right-out Syed Sallimuddin (41st & 70th) scored two goals, while Allen (20th) and A. Xavier (86th) netted one apiece.
