KAMALAPUR (KARIMNAGAR DT): The Ashirvada yatra (blessings rally) organised by TRS president and Karimnagar MP K. Chandrashekhar Rao in Kamalapur Assembly constituency on Sunday evoked poor response. TRS district president Etala Rajender, who represents Kamalapur assembly segment, made elaborate arrangements to welcome Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao and other party MPs, legislators and council members from the district borders of Ambala village of Kamalapur mandal. All along the route from Ambala to Jammikunta town via Gudur, Kamalapur and other villages, the TRS had put up huge banners, arches and party flags. The local leaders competed in erecting banners to welcome the TRS leaders Ashirvada yatra seeking the blessings of people for intensifying the Telangana movement. Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao and his party leaders were received with much pomp and gaiety at the Ambala village. However, there was no great response for the road show organised by the TRS leaders. Mr. Rao traveled in an open top jeep waving to the thinly attended crowds on either sides of the road leading towards Jammikunta town. AT Kamalapur mandal headquarters, the TRs chief addressed a thinly attended road show. When he asked the people whether the TRS elected representatives should resign to their posts demanding Telangana, the people responded positively. He reiterated that the TRS leaders were ready to sacrifice their lives for the cause of Telangana. YSR flayedHe alleged that Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was obstructing the formation of Telangana. He also flayed the Chief Minister for comparing Telangana issue with Kashmir and spread of naxalism in the region. The roadside meeting in Jammikunta town was held in the evening. Even in this busy town, there was average gathering. Mr. Rao predicted elections in October.
