BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) which is already in top gear with its recognition as one of the best managed State-owned road transport corporations, will now offer its managerial expertise to the Assam Road Transport Corporation (ARTC). Thanks to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the KSRTC top brass, including Managing Director A.P. Joshi, Chief Manager (marketing and commuter relations) Nagaraja Rao and other experts on various operations of the KSRTC, have been invited to Assam for sharing their expertise with their counterparts in Assam. Mr. Gogoi, who visited the corporate office of the KSRTC at Shantinagar, learnt the various operational reforms that the corporation had taken up first-hand from Mr. Joshi. He evinced keen interest in the initiatives taken up by the corporation, particularly in infrastructure and information technology. InitiativesMr. Joshi explained various initiatives in the augmentation of fleet, modernisation of infrastructure, introduction of e-ticketing, Any where Any time Advance Reservation (AWATAR) and the fleet modernisation, emission control and optimisation of fuel consumption. Mr. Gogoi appreciated the fact that the KSRTC had introduced 7.5 per cent mix of bio-fuel in the diesel used by its vehicles. He also wanted the KSRTC officials to give ARTC inputs on recruitment of drivers.
