Police stations put on alert
D.Chandra Bhaskar Rao
CHINTOOR (Khammam dt.): Police stations in remote areas, particularly those on the inter-State borders, have been put on high alert following the Maoist attack on police establishments in the neighbouring State of Orissa.
A battalion of CRPF is being sent to Bhadrachalam in view of the spurt in naxalite activity.
The major source of worry for the police in the region is the loot of armouries in Nayagarh town of Orissa. The Maoists managed to escape with a huge cache of arms. Over 1,000 weapons were taken away by them.
Bulk of the weapons are expected to reach the camps being organised by the left wing extremist group in the timber reserves of South Bastar.
