‘Movies on the mind’

BANGALORE: “Efforts by mental health professionals benefit from an appreciation of how media representations of mental illness, both simplistic and authentic, affect popular culture,” said actor and psychiatrist Mohan Agashe here on Saturday.

He was speaking at a symposium on “Movies on the mind” as part of a conference on “Psychology and cinema” organised by the Department of Psychology, Christ College.

The three-day conference provided the participants a forum to interact with specialists and academics.
