NEW DELHI: Two men were killed by Blueline buses in separate accidents here over the weekend, taking the number of deaths involving killer buses to 13 this year. A 32-year-old man, Ranvijay Kumar, was run over by a Blueline bus while he was getting off at Punjabi Bagh at 8-45 p.m. on Saturday. The bus was plying between Lajpat Nagar and Nangloi. “Ranvijay was travelling on the front-door footboard and refused to listen to his father Rampukar and co-passengers. When the bus neared North-West Avenue roundabout, he jumped off the moving bus and came under the wheels,” said Sub-Inspector Kaptan Singh, who is investigating the case. Ranvijay suffered who suffered serious head injuries was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he died around 3 p.m. The bus driver Ashok Kumar has been arrested and the bus impounded. In another accident, 30-year-old Aqueed was crushed by a Blueline bus near Nizamuddin here on Sunday. The incident took place at 6-30 p.m. when Aqueed got down from the bus with his wife and child. Another speeding Blueline bus plying on the Okhla-Old Delhi route hit him and he died on the spot.
