Students of Vivekananda Bala Mandir Matriculation School, Salem, staging a play.

Sri Vidhya, a student of Standard X, was given the best outgoing student award at the 17th annual day celebrations of Vivekananda Bala Mandir Matriculation School, Attaiyampatti in Salem.

The best teacher award went to Kiruthika, working in the kindergarten section. Chitra Sampath of C.S. Hospital distributed prizes and certificates to the students who excelled in academic

and extra curricular

activities.

Retired Headmaster Palanivel presided.

The Montfort Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Yercaud, selected two students – Sri Krishna in the junior section and Jeslin Joseph in the higher secondary section - as the best students. The two were presented with awards at the annual concert and prize distribution function held in the school. The best teacher award winner P.K. Francis Xavier, retired Tamil teacher Viramani Senguttuvan, hostel assistants Parimala Surendran and Mary Joseph were felicitated during the function. Students performed cultural programmes. Industrialist P. Nachimuthu was the chief guest.

Principal K.J. George presided.

Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini distributed free bicycles to 194 Plus I students of Gokulanatha Hindu Mahajana Higher Secondary School, Salem. She appealed to the students to take full advantage of the government schemes. School correspondent S. Sriraaman and Principal V. Gnanasekaran spoke.
