KOCHI: A section of the traders owing allegiance to the Kerala State Vyapari Vyavasaya Samiti will keep their shops closed on February 23 protesting against the entry of multinational companies in the retail sector of the State. Samiti president Binni Immatti said here on Monday that the Central government had not initiated any steps to prevent the entry of multinational giants into the retail sector of the country. The traders will organise protest marches at area and district levels on February 22 and 23. The Central government should withdraw the move to allow godowns of the Food Corporation of India to multinational firms for storing their products, he said.
