Briefly
CHENNAI: Ramco Systems has launched a SaaS (software as a service)-enabled `on-demand’ ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) solution. The ‘Ramco OnDemand ERP’ is a full-suite web-enabled ERP solution. It is available for subscription. The subscription model helps the user-company to pay for what it uses. Consequently, it obviates the need for heavy upfront capital investment on IT infrastructure, upkeep and support needs. Since it is delivered as a subscription service, it gives real time access to business information at the click of a button. Ramco claimed that the OnDemand ERP could support the entire range of business processes within an organisation — book-keeping, accounts receivable and payables, manufacturing, inventory management and the like. “It requires no software at the company end. It requires only an Internet connection,” the company said. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, P. R. Venketrama Raja, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, said the ‘Ramco OnDemand ERP’ would help an organisation to focus on its business and not worry about the IT (information technology) issues. Stating that it was a derivative of Ramco’s Virtual Works Solution, he said the Ramco OnDemand ERP “is simple, unique and powerful.” He claimed that Ramco was receiving an order (with seven to eight users on an average) a day for its OnDemand ERP. To a question, he said Ramco was hoping to have 10,000 users over the next 18 months for its latest ERP. The new product division could become profitable within this year, he said.
